Water is Life- Water scarcity is being felt across the US and abroad.
Freshwater flows from the Tri-cities, Waukegan, Zion and North Chicago, into Lake Michigan. The Tri-cities border the lake which is part of the Great Lakes system. The Great Lakes hold 20% of the World's Freshwater. This water is considered "Blue Gold" by many.

Program Details:
Program participants meet 2 mornings or afternoons per week (3 hours each session) for 5 weeks (30 total hours).
This is an adult learning course for participants ages 20 to 40 years of age.
Available in 3 locations in 2025: Waukegan, Zion and North Chicago (Lake County, IL)

This in-person program includes both indoor and outdoor locations with activities designed to foster collaboration. Participants engage as integral members of a cohort. Cohorts have a maximum of 10 members.
The program is a stipend-based program that offers English / Spanish language translation. Participants successfully completing the 30 hour program will receive a Certificate of Completion and stipends with a $600 maximum value.
Individuals with barriers to employment are welcome to apply.
