Compensation : $22.84/hr.-$34.26/hr.
The Personal Banker is responsible for meeting or exceeding members’ expectations by providing excellent service. Acts as the members’ most valued financial partner, taking every opportunity to understand and assess their financial needs and goals. Cross sell loans and ancillary products while providing quality member service to attain or exceed sales goals for both consumers and small businesses. Advises members of appropriate products and services that will help them achieve their goals while appropriately positioning ancillary products utilizing consultative sales processes and strategies. Performs all duties with accuracy and in compliance with federal and state laws, rules and regulations, and complies with GLCU’s policies and procedures. Demonstrates cooperation and maintains positive working relationships with other GLCU departments and staff. Supports the Member Promise and maintains positive working relationships by supporting Standards of Excellence.
As a Personal Banker you will:
- Assess each member’s financial situation, both consumers and small businesses and determines the best products and services to help improve their financial wellness.
- Consistently attains and exceeds assigned sales goals while contributing to department and credit union success.
- Provides guidance and information to members regarding membership, deposit products, loan eligibility, lending criteria and denial reasons. Council members regarding the various credit union products and services.
- Responsible for opening and maintaining membership accounts in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Interviews members or prospects to process loan applications which include credit card, home equity and consumer loans.
- Examine applications, worksheets and credit reports for additional cross-sell opportunities.
- Responsible for calling on and visiting local small businesses to discuss ways GLCU can support and improve their businesses.
- Engage in consultation with members to answer questions regarding lending products and services.
- Responsible for investigating and resolving members’ issues and complaints timely and accurately.
- Build a relationship with our members by managing a book of business through outbound calls, onboarding, and follow up calls.
- Must obtain their FiCep certification or similar certification.
- Provides high quality member service and retention activities concerning accounts, shares, loans, teller transactions, etc.
- Participates in credit union promotions and community events.
- Complies with federal and state regulations and internal controls and expectations while maintaining secure inventory control of negotiable instruments and cash.
- Responsible for conducting financial transactions include deposits, withdrawals, transfers, wires, and other requests as needed and other Member Specialist duties as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local rules and regulations, and following all GLCU policies, procedures and internal controls.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements needed to be part of this team:
- Minimum of 1 year as a Sr. Member Specialist or industry equivalent (Personal Banker).
- Successful completion of Retail Advanced (Lending) training program.
- Must have active NMLS license, ability to renew expired license, or ability to acquire new license within 6 months of accepting the role.
- Ability to complete FiCep training within a pre-determined time frame.
