GURNEE, Ill. — June 30, 2026 — Six Flags Great America invites guests to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary during Star-Spangled Nights presented by M&M’S®, a high‑energy Fourth of July experience with a patriotic drone show, live entertainment, classic thrills and extended park hours.
On July 3 and 4, guests will experience a special patriotic drone show lighting up the night sky with bold red, white and blue imagery. This radiant aerial display honors America’s 250th birthday with synchronized movement, music and dazzling visuals that create a memorable Independence Day experience for guests of all ages.
Throughout the celebration, guests can enjoy a full lineup of live entertainment, including the high‑energy “Spirit of America” performance, along with character meet and greets throughout the day. From patriotic music to interactive experiences, the park offers festive entertainment for all to enjoy.
Adding to the excitement, guests can ride one of the park’s most iconic attractions as American Eagle races once again for the first time in nearly 10 years, delivering the classic head‑to‑head coaster competition that has defined generations of summer visits. The return of racing offers a nostalgic nod to the park’s history while giving today’s guests a timeless thrill.
Guests can also indulge in the park’s specialty anniversary food offerings, featuring bold flavors and fan‑favorite treats such as Italian beef loaded tater tots, specialty pizzas, birthday cake funnel cake, and many other limited‑time options. With a 50th Anniversary tasting pass, guests can sample a variety of these offerings throughout the park, making it easy to experience the flavors of the celebration.
To give guests even more time to take in the celebration, Six Flags Great America has extended park hours, remaining open until 10:00 p.m. each night through Aug. 9. The extended hours allow visitors to enjoy more rides, more entertainment and more time to create new memories during the park’s 50th Anniversary Celebration.
